We Love Our Community Event
Supporting The Jonah Project
Thank you to everyone who attended, participated, stopped by at our 3rd Annual – We Love Our Community Event! This year was even more special as the Jonah Project all all that they do is close to our hearts. North Town Insurance was determined to help raise awareness and raise funds to help end trafficking in the Inland Northwest. We did so by hosting this event at Bellwether Brewing on October, 5th 2018. There was great beer, excellent trivia hosted by North Town Insurance and The Jonah Project as well as silent auction tables.
Local businesses in the Spokane community graciously donated gifts for our Silent Auction table – with that help and with those that bid on these gifts, our Silent Auction raised $1000.00 for the Jonah Project.
Bringing Awareness to Human Trafficking
The Jonah project began their journey when their founder bought a student a pair of cleats. They began as a way to reach at-risk youth. And since then they have grown. While the Jonah Project aims to end sex slavery in Spokane and the community, the problem is still prevalent around the nation and even worldwide. To put into perspective, this is happening in our community and is the word’s fastest growing crime.
Our goal is to just have the community know that The Jonah Project is here and to encourage those to get involved and donate outside of this event. This month of October 2018 celebrated their 4th birthday as an organization since they first began this mission – and we were able to partner and celebrate with them to get one step closer to ending human trafficking in Spokane.
